i am using a little shell-wrapper:
/var/qmail/bin/qmail-smtp.sh:
#!/bin/bash
/usr/local/bin/fixcr | /var/qmail/bin/qmail-smtpd
and call it with tcpserver instead of qmail-smtpd. just one way of doing it...
