Stripping binaries?

I'd like to set up my qmail-based mailhosts to strip attachments automatically, save them to a dir, and put a this attachment saved to /some/path message at the bottom... instead of distributing binaries to all and sundry. Anyone doing this with qmail yet, and/or got any hints? -- ~jv --
