I think Jake hit the nail on the head with this one. I'm seeing an
inordinate number of active smtp sessions on a couple servers. I don't
think it has anything to do with QMT per se.
However, now's probably a very good time to do some performance tuning.
;) This would *include* installing spamdyke, as spamdyke will reject
more email before it's even transmitted, requiring fewer emails to be
scanned (by a possibly overloaded server).
So what should be done in such circumstances?
BTW, the "storm" appears to have subsided here for the time being.
