Actually I think I have an idea of what's
going on. I have a list of my domains in teh rcpthosts config. I have
it set with wildcards to my domains. If I set it to accept all
domains it works, however doesn't that create an open relay? If
so then disabling that rcpthosts file is out

K I went back and checked my DNS and such. I didn't build the DNS
zone files for my domain. I fixed that and the host file and
resolv.conf as well. None of those files had my new domain in there.
Gave the server a good reboot just for kicks. same message...
anywhere else I can look?

Negative sir. I added that line to the end, didn't seem to work either.
host server.mydomain.com [XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX]:
553 sorry, that domain isn't in my list of allowed rcpthosts (#5.5.3 -
chkuser)
Could it be an issue with my DNS not working properly maybe? Or a host file
hiccup?
Did you perhaps add the domains using vqadmin?

Hello all. I’m getting the dredded 553 message out of the blue. I am

address on the 3 domains I have on the server, it fails.
My tcp.smtp seems fine

The best way is to use the submission port 587 (with authentication);
alternatively you can modify /etc/tcprules.d/tcp.smtp in a way that internal IP
addresses can use the SMTP port as mail relay. I highly recomment doing the
first.
