I did it to get openssl-1.0.x and kill anything below TLS 1.1. CentOS 5 is
limited to openssl-0.9.6 unless you do major surgery [maybe easier now but

Thanks Eric, no Dovecot here. I know it's better, but I never had
any problems so didn't take the time to change to it. If I moved
to a new platform I would use it. I guess really clam is the only
thing that updates on a regular basis. And it's the only thing
I ran CentOS 4 QMT for several years after end-of-life with no ill
effects. I'm not sure it will affect the qmail packages much only the
peripheral packages...like clamav. If you're using Dovecot, only up to
~2.10 is supported on CentOS 5.
