The dovecot version we (qt) compile has the vpopmail driver in it, the
dovecot repos don't have that driver compiled in. If you use the many
domain version of qmail toaster that it would be okay, but using the stock
version then, no, you would run into trouble using the dovecot repo
 versions.

Re: [qmailtoaster] Weird problem on pop3 connection

2022-01-31 Thread Eric Broch

Fabio,

Okay, it's patched.

The new file is dovecot-2.3.11.3-13 in the testing repo with all the
associated packages. We cannot, from here, go on to 2.3.13 because that
version no longer supports vpopmail driver.

command will be this:

# yum --enablerepo=qmt-testing update dovecot

I'd wait maybe a day at which time all the qt repos are updated,

or you will find the file on my site at this link:
http://repo.whitehorsetc.com/7/testing/x86_64/

from which you can download it and install manually.

Eventually, we will all go this route:
https://www.qmailtoaster.org/manydom.html

and all dnf (yum) settings can be modified so that all rpms will come
from dovecot.

Re: [qmailtoaster] Issue with clamav

2022-01-31 Thread Angus McIntyre
I seem to remember a past thread that said that ClamAV is very
memory-hungry, and getting more so over time as more definitions get added.

It's the main reason why I use a 4GB VM for my toaster; the consensus
seemed to be that clamav won't run successfully on anything smaller.

I don't know what the memory footprint of qmailtoaster without clamav
(or without all clamav's definitions) is likely to be, but my impression
is that it could run on something much smaller.
