Re: [qmailtoaster] Please suggest
Mass mailing system where we have around 5 mails to be sent at a time. This will repeat for at least 15 times per month. What is the best option I can suggest him? qmail with mailing list I had suggested to go for dedicated server on which I'll provide him a qmail server setup. Will qmail will be able to handle so many mails a day? sure, also it depends on available bandwidth concurrencyremote What are the possiblities of getting mails mark as Junk? 1) forward revers lookup for public ip configured to send / receive emails. 2) proper email id list. minimum should bounce / reject. Unsubscribe option should be given on news letter to avoid users marking you as spammer. 3) mailing list should be configured to remove invalid email ids from list. this is all I can recommend, there should be other precautions also. -- Regards Dhaval Thakar http://www.linuxreaders.com/

What is the best option I can suggest him? qmail with mailing list Thanks even I was thinking this. But if user is using any 3rd party mass mailing software and uses this qmail server for SMTP authentication, will this affect performance? when you use ezmlm to send mails, it does not write mails in queue using smtp service. It is delivered locally. whereas in case of smtp auth, all 5 mails will be written to queue via smtp, which takes time. but overall delivery should not impact much till the time smtp-auth is done using local lan. you may need to consider followings for better performance over smtp. 1) user sending mails with smtp-auth over local lan 2) how many mails delivered in single session, if for every mails client is going for auth, this will delay mail delivery. 3) by any chance you can consider excluding smtp-auth, if its on local lan iptables can be used to restrict. This will reduce smtp load. 4) concurrencyincoming rate 5) excluding virus scan I had suggested to go for dedicated server on which I'll provide him a qmail server setup.
