How to block all email sent from all .pro domains?
I tried to add *@*.pro in badmailfrom, but
this policy does not allow send emails that
have a "pro" in their address.

[qmailtoaster] BadmailFrom

2010-11-28 Thread Tony White

Hi folks,
I am trying, still, to block a number of emails in the Badmailfrom list.
Eric instigated the regex type expressions for me they entire operation
does not seem to be working.
I have some 150 addresses in the file and none of the are blocked.

Example
@rolex\.com$
@ozgameshop\.com$
\.yourfreeworld\.com$
eli...@gmail\.com$

The rolex one is the primary interest as it seems to get through no
matter what I do. Is it my regex expressions or does bamailfrom/
badmailto simply not work?

thanks...

Your rule looks fine. Check the message headers. I'll bet that the

You look like a spammer. 24x7server.com comes up to a "EzyPharma.com"
login page. www.ezypharma.com comes up to an online pill-ad site
which
does not provide any address for contact. Performing a whois lookup
shows:

Registrant:
  I am affiliate of RX-Partners.biz
  jl. demak no.27
  antapani kidul - cicadas

I may be stereo-typing, but I spend a **LOT** of time keeping pill
ads

out of my client's mailboxes, and unless you can convince me that you
are not a spammer I'm not going to provide any help. Sorry. Others
may

be a little more open minded than me.

The only way I can think to do this would be either in Spamassassin

in mailfilter by writing some custom code to look for specific subjects

Most likelly it get's matched against some record like "@*.osowa.net".

It's incorrect, as you expect it to read as:
At-sign,then any bunch of symbols, and then string ".osowa.net".

But in reality it is read as:
Zero or more at-signs, any symbol, string "osowa", any symbol, string
"net".

Head on to the manual on Posix Regular Expressions Language for more
info.

"net".

Head on to the manual on Posix Regular Expressions Language for more
info.

These are regular expressions that are compared to the "envelope's" sender
address. If it matches, the mail is rejected with an appropriate message.

I'll do my best to translate each one into english. Please cut me some slack
if I don't get them quite right.

> .*\ @.*

This says: any number of (*) any character (.) followed by a space (\ )
followed by an 'at' character (@) followed by any number of any character
(.*). Simply put, it's checking for a space before the @ sign.

As I understand it, the initial '.*' and trailing '.*' are not needed, as
the regex (qregex, actually) is matched against any substring of the
address, not the entire address. Thus,
\ @
would accomplish the same thing.

> [EMAIL PROTECTED]

This one says: not any number (*) of (!) any character (.) followed by an
'at' character (@) followed by any number of any character (.*) followed by
a period (\.) followed by any number of any character (.*). Simply put, it's
looking for "@something.", and if it doesn't find it, it's rejected.

Once again, this could be simplified as:
@.*\.

> .*%.*

You want to guess what this is doing?
Ok, scroll down for the answer.

It's looking for a percent sign! Again, simply
%
would do. I'm guessing that this might have been the one causing you problems.

I wonder why we need these qregex's in the badmailfrom file for the basic
toaster. I'm thinking that chkuser checks for all this stuff (and a whole
lot more). Are these leftovers from the toaster's pre-chkuser days?

Then again, maybe I'm missing something.

What is the purpose of the info below in the badmailfrom file. I could
not receive or send for one of the domains I created until I removed the

I have searched the list, I admit, I was a little lazy, I probably could
have done more searches. I find the default message a little boring, and
not to the point, if I add someone to the badmailfrom message, and
someone tries emailing me from that unwanted user, I think something a
little more rude and obvious should be in the subject line. So, my
question is, is it possible?

Thanx in advance.

You would need to change the chkuser.c program and rebuild the source.
See
http://www.interazioni.it/opensource/chkuser/documentation/patch_design.html
and related documents.

You might request Tonino (the author) to make changes that would make
this easier. This might fit in well with a multi-lingual type of
capability.

Oops - that's not chkuser code. It's part of qmail-smtpd (which chkuser is
hooked in to). You'd still need to change qmail-smtpd.c (I think).

[qmailtoaster] badmailfrom bug or feature

2006-06-13 Thread K Anand
I have a small problem with badmailfrom. When I put @t in the file, it is
blocking all emails from any domain starting with t...Actually I want it
to block only [EMAIL PROTECTED] not, say, [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Another thing was also happeningwhen I put .cn , it was blocking emails
from users with cn in their userids

Any pointers ?
