They should run in the place where they are created.

When you install Qt Creator on Windows you are prompted whether to
register it as a post-mortem debugger. I have turned this option off
but I now want to enable it without reinstalling the product - any
hints on how I can do this? Is it a matter of hacking the registry?

available in Visual Studio.
