I had that exact setup for a while but I didn't have much faith in the velcro. I took the lap belt from my old chair and had an upholsterer make loops of the ends so they would slip over the chair handles. Now I just buckle it across my chest. Works great (wheelchair belts still aren't certified safe for driving, though) The velcro also picked my clothes to pieces.

HI EVERYONE
I REMEMBER SOMEONE ON HERE WHO HAD A VELCRO STRAP MADE TO HELP HOLD THEM UPRIGHT WHILE DRIVING. SEEMS IT ATTACHED TO HANDLE AND THEY USED THUMB TO WRAP AROUND AND VELCRO.

I'M NEEDING SOMETHING SO IF YOU HAVE IDEAS PLEASE SHARE.
