MY caregiver puts it on before leaving. And/or put in on right before I brush them. I even have tooth paste lid barely on to were I can use my mouth to untwist lid & squirt ity in my mouth. Yes, you will want the brush to shut off before removing from mouth. You can push button to shut it off

My fingers are also curled (now pretty tightly over all these years) so, yes, I have to have my home health aide put it in my hand and I also just hold it -- but I have to have her turn it around after I am done with brushing one side of my mouth to do the other side because I am unable to do that

i have the philips and since my hand is curled, i can hold it. the shaft is like 1/2' thick. you could wrap decom or rubber bands around to help with grip. i have been using the same sonicare for over 10 years. i buy new brush heads every 3 months. derrick o will not go back to regular brush
