[QUAD-L] Chair

2016-10-20 Thread greg
I keep thinking I want a new chair, mine is like 10 years old or more. I have a prescription, just didn't want the cost. While trying to get a van. But it's almost not a choice. Just got new batteries, but still after a few miles I can feel a lag. The charging graph is fading out, hard to see. Once today it started flasing the Pi sign.

I need tilt, recline
very much helpful is seat raising
would love 7.5 + mph
would love a USB or Lighter Plug

Anyone know a chair that fits?

2016-10-20 Thread Lori Michaelson
Exactly Ron!

Just a short time ago because I had my skin split in my groin area ... I
went to my regular physician and she always knew that she could examine me
(but my home health agency could to report to her) and during my "wellness
visit" she put me through an hour of filling out paperwork and then having
her medical assistant ask me questions (above the usual stuff) and then my
physician came in. Prior to this "wellness visit" I was only going to this
physician for a script for my pain medication every month as required by
her. Every other physician I have had has let my spouse, family member or
caregiver pick it up for me every month. Further, she never looked at me
during my visit... she kept staring at her computer as she asked me
questions. The first time I was there to visit her I asked if she would
look at me but she said she could listen to me while looking at her
computer.

Anyway, during this last "wellness visit" and putting me through all of
that time filling out paperwork and having her medical assistant asked me
the usual questions... and having my doctor asked me the same questions
(usual questions) at the end of the visit she turned around and told me
that she was discharging me because she couldn't "examine me." She knew I
had taken photos of it but that was not good enough for her and she only
gave me 30 days to look for a new doctor!

When moving back to Arizona and found that 99% (or more) of the physicians
are either not taking on patients on pain medication DESPITE THE DIAGNOSIS
and I am only on one that is only 10 mg twice a day finding a doctor who is
not an easy task! I called 30 general practitioners with either of them not
taking new patients or not taking patients on any pain medication!

My urologist later told me that that I was not the only one she heard from
that
discharged a patient for no good reason.

The Dr. above was not the first doctor to discharge me since moving back to
Arizona. The first doctor I had when I moved here was not only arrogant and
not letting me talk but because 3 home health agencies would not take me on
(because of my diagnosis and being a long-term patient and because of my
insurance) he was too lazy to look for another home health agency that
would take me on and so HE discharged me! And I had only gone to him twice!
And it was he who caused me to be discharged from the first home health
agency I had by him complaining to them about the home health aide I had
who I loved (but he would not listen to me) so by doing this the home
health agency called me to discharge me saying that the home health aide
was not comfortable coming back to me which was not the truth!!!

I finally found a "good" physician and she is super.

BUT, my urologist since 2006 this this urologist this requiring me to
go to *another
*urologist in case I need a reconstruction surgery (like it bladder neck
closing) after the first nurse who came to my home to do my catheter change
blew the balloon up in my urethra stretching it terribly and has led to
problems to this very day when, *after 36 1/2 years I have never ever had a
nurse *(who was probably close to 1000 catheter changes over those years)
who blew the balloon up in my urethra and causing me to lose my urologist
because she does not do any type of reconstruction surgery and has not been
able to stop the leaking around my catheter which never ever happened in my
life before -- causing skin breakdown and more chux, etc. etc. etc.

She has always been a great urologist familiar with neurogenic bladders and
removing bladder stones from my bladder so now I am losing her after what
happened to me with that nurse back at the end of January. I was hoping my
urethra would tighten back up and be like it always has but during my last
cystoscopy (what my urologist since 2006 could possibly see what was
happening, if anything up there) she confirmed that my bladder was badly
stretched and for the first time ever my bladder was, what she called a
"war zone").

We knew that my bladder had been stretched but during my follow-up visit I
asked her why she thought my bladder looks so bad since the last time she
was up there (late 2012) she said that my bladder was still in "pristine"
condition (like always) and like I have never had a catheter in my bladder
for over 33 years. I had one fairly large bladder stone (that she crushed
and got out of my bladder during her cystoscopy in early July of this
year). She was "hoping" that iit was because the way the bladder stone was
positioned or something but that was just a guess. She removed 10 bladder
stones in late 2012 and those did not cause any damage and she removed very
very very big bladder stones in 2006 and those did not cause any problem
either.

What is this world coming to!

I'm really bad at seeing doctors but I'll do what I have to. I already bought
some diflucan which I did not need a prescription for, I live in Mexico by the
way. I'm close to the border though so what I can't find here I can go across
for.
Anyway, thank you all for your help. I'll let you know my results.

How can a doctor really examine a quad other than bring in a photo? I think
quads that run to the doc at every whim aren't going to live very long. You got
to clean between your legs in the shower, then dry it out. Get clean of any
accidents as quick as possible. Use cream when it gets red. My fee is $350.00
for that.lol

I've seen it for sale at my local pharmacy and have always wondered if
it worked well or not. I might have to pick up a tube to keep on hand
(or elsewhere if need be:-D).
