Hi Smurf,
Houston was buried on the very day of the announcement and he burial site
was not announced. But later, both Warrior and I found out the details after
taking with Houston's Uncle in Gary,IN. We plan on doing something in the
Spring when it is warmer, and drier. Nothing was mentioned about his family
or
extended family. I don't know if Houston was ever married, but had 3-4
children, as the story goes.
Warrior, may also choose to chime in with what she was told. Thanks for
your sincere interest.
Best Wishes
W

Hi, WW and others...I called the funeral home trying to find out the
cause of death, so we would all know if it was SCI related or other. They told
me it is illegal to give out that information. That seems very weird because in
many obituaries here in St. Louis they tell you the cause such as Cancer, heart
Attack or long illness and so on.Any way I guess we will never know
unless Andrea-WW or one of those closer to indiana hear why. ( Dan H. )

Very sad news to hear about Houston's passing. Too bad they wouldn't give you

I don't know her name, Houston only said they lived by Goodfellow Blvd. and
some other road here near St. Louis. I worked down at Goodfellow and Natural

St. Louis Plant. Dan H.

Houston, had a past and had been shot a number of times without causing
major damage to his body.
The last incident about 7 years ago, changed the course of his history

The Quad-List had two members with Houston in their profile. One in Indiana
and one in Illinois (Chicago).
It was the Houston, in Indiana that passed on December 25. Details are not
currently available at this time.
The Saturday news article said that a service for Houston would be held this
morning at 11am at St. Phillips Lutheran Church in Gary, IN

You are most welcome, Dana. I would pursue the what ever happened as
Houston was only in St.Louis for about 6 weeks before he returned to Indy...
according to one of his neighbors. I just finished talking with Warrior who
was
also good friends with Houston. We are both banging our brains. It happens
when there are no immediate answers.
Enjoy your life

I know Houston will be missed. He had a lot of years as a quad. I hope it was
peaceful. I hope someone was there. I know I dread the idea of being alone at
that moment. My doctors as well as my own experience lets me know that
traumatic quads rarely live as long as he did. He never seemed to be bothered
by being a quad, just inconvenienced by the many issues and constant petty
problems that associate with many of our lives. It takes a lot to face this
life, let alone, to stare it down for forty years. I could never judge him or
any of you. I have the deepest respect for all of you. There is bravery
involved in telling society that you want a life and then grasping one from
what little is left. Houston did it everyday, and he didn't hesitate to remind
us that he was still here and he MATTERED! I never met him face to face, but
I'd like to think he was my friend as much as he was a friend to everyone he
tried to help on the list.
