the only thing with openbsd is they have no platform maintainer. also
the fact that it supports less hardware than netbsd or linux is another
issue on mac68k at least. there is also a wider netbsd/mac68k userbase
and therefore more incentive to fix problems with it. i ran
openbsd/mac68k and
i know the guy who runs ziaspace.com. the url mentioned below. i use
netbsd/mac68k daily. it runs my email server. and netbsd/macppc runs
my webserver.

copy a minimial install to a zip disk and such. you can just basically copy
the system folder as well that would work.

you can actually use an open apple reset and then type g f (exactly like that) then
press return then it goes to finder anyways to bypass it. there was also an
application called fool proof that limited access to machines the ability to write and
such

the main problem with a/ux is that it is no longer patched. when you run a unix
machine connected to a network you need to be current. you can maybemake it current
with pkgsrc. netbsd or debian or openbsd are the only alternatives. however openbsd
does not like to compile itself so that is
the 660av is 33 mhz i believe www.everymac.com gives me that info. the 660 av has the
most ram as well a max of 68 megs. the 630 also has a 68lc040 cpu i believe. that is
slower than the 660 av you can run the most operating systems on the 660av however
netbsd and linux and openbsd on it and
i run one as a server i am actually typing this on it it is my main
web/email server as well as for ssh connections. anyways i just leave a
keyboard plugged into it with a penny and a dime on the power key to
make it turn on in case of power outages. it works marvelously well you
should consider
netbsd works fine on a quadra 650 and a quadra 840av with a 36 gig 10k
rpm disk scsiit is an os thing i can only have a 4 ish gig partition
in 7.5.3 when i had 7.5.3 on the quadra 840av
