NECs first such monitor was known as BiSync which could do two sets of frequencies / resolution and worked specifically with I think it was the IBM EGA video card. Later versions were called Multi-Sync (NEC Trademarked the term) as they operate over a range of frequencies. I just looked up the info on my 17 Optiquest (View Sonic) and under the Precision Timing... section: True multi-scanning ability allows automatic tracking of horizontal frequencies from 30 to 70 KHz and vertical frequencies from 50 to 180Hz. It does list various maximum vertical frequencies for given resolutions. It also lists eight timing preset and 13 user definable timing sets. Otherwise it doesn't list any specific resolutions. I've also played around with resolution / refresh rates and found most of the monitors I used would work with anything under the maximum resolution / refresh the monitor could handle. -- Clark Martin Redwood City, CA, USA Macintosh / Internet Consulting I'm a designated driver on the Information Super Highway -- Quadlist is sponsored by http://lowendmac.com/ and... My LG 15 does 832x624 You might want to look into LG displays as they're really cheap, but I find them very nice and rather reliable. I was wondering if anyone knew of any monitors that would do the 832 x 624 this machine can produce (with the extra VRAM). If I could get a few model numbers jotted down, it would give me something else to look for at the thrift stores. ** Lots of hellos from Dan Palka's Quadra 800: The power to be your best. ** -- Quadlist is sponsored by http://lowendmac.com/ and...
