We live near Portsmouth and the local paper carried a short report on a car 
fire and attached was a picture showing a TR4 with its bonnet up and the front 
was totally wrecked! The trouble is that modern fuels can literally eat the old 
fashioned petrol tubes that old cars and motorbikes are fitted with. Keep 
safeJon 2+2

powder and the fire was out. Very scary and I count my self very lucky that I 
could tackle the fire so promptly I could very easily have lost the 2+2. The 
reason for the fire, a fuel hose had come lose. The good news is that the fire 
did very little damage, and after fixing the hose, I was able to start the car 
and drive home.

I watched a video on Facebook a couple of years ago of a Westfield going up in 
flames and all the guy could do was stand and watch it. Must have been 
heartbreaking. I bought an extinguisher soon after that.
