[qubes-users] Problems creating a new virtual machine - Parrot Security OS

2020-02-22 Thread redpollwan
Hi everybody
I have been struggling with this now for a couple of days and its sending
me around the bend.

I finally got it installed with a couple of problems that have me stumped.

I can't the new vm to full screen. It opens in a smaller screen. I don't
know if this is a problem with the host vm settings as early on the setup
of Parrot I saw a brief window saying something along the lines of the the
host hadn't set up display...that's all I can remember of it. I have been
into the global vm settings but I can't find anything to do with display?

The second thing is that I can't Parrot to connect to the internet. It
goes through the task of trying but then it gives me "Parrot has
disconnected from" I don't think this is a problem in Parrot as I've
had it running in both VM Ware and Virtual Box without this problem. I
currently have Parrot to link to the internet via the default sys- but to
no avail,

If anybody can throw some light on what I might be missing or point me to a
tutorial on it I'd appreciate it. I have perused the QUBES documentation to
no avail.

I am reasonably competent with Linux based systems (to my own level that
is), but this QUBES is a new learning curve that I won't shy away from. I
have now spent more than a day trying to master this, searching etc, so
turning here is my current hope. I hope I've provided enough info.

Thanks for any help.

[qubes-users] touchpad vertical scrolling (in Firefox) sporadically scrolls through page history

2020-02-22 Thread 'Andrey Arapov' via qubes-users
Hi all,

I was wondering if that's only me, basically the issue I am having is that the
touchpad vertical scrolling sporadically scrolls through page history in
Firefox (haven't tried Chromium yet) which is quiet annoying I must say.

By "scrolls through page history" I mean that if I opened some page in a single
tab, then I clicked on some link there and then clicked on another link down
there (and so on), at some random time later, the touchpad vertical scroll
would not scroll me through the opened page up or down as expected, but it
would rather go through pages (back or forward, depending if I scroll up or
down) in the history at a lightning speed.
This normally happens when I press `Alt-` key combination.

Has anyone encountered this issue as well?

OS: Qubes R4.1
HW: MacBookPro14,3 (mid-2017)

Kind regards,
Andrey Arapov
