Edit: I did some research and meant to edit this before I posted. Watchdog
actually appears to be an NMI and I found one thread about someone
increasing the threshold? I had thought this was a response error to when I
tried to disable the firewall/net VM but actually might be an error of its
own. Are my resources being hogged up somehow? I have made it past user
account login twice now, both times it will let me move the mouse for a bit
and then when i try to click on anything the whole system freezes.

If it's any indicator, I can load debian just fine so I don't think its
anything hardware related. I must have tweaked with a setting in qubes I
wasn't supposed to.

Yes, that CPU lockup is causing your troubles. It's often caused by a
misbehaving hardware device. Have you added any recently, or upgraded
the kernel? Since it's related to your mouse movement, any USB devices?
You can try the previous kernel by changing it per
https://www.qubes-os.org/doc/software-update-dom0/#changing-default-kernel.

Did you select that bit of text before? Maybe you are accidentally doing
a middle-click which pastes your last selected text (on that same VM).

[qubes-users] Typed text being copied to clipboard

2021-01-12 Thread Shawn Creighton
Sometimes when I left click and hold and drag left on the track pad to
highlight and copy text, it will accidentally paste a bit of text that I
have recently typed but never copied? This issue has occurred ever since I
started using Qubes a few months ago, and has continued to happen
occasionally in all vm's to my knowledge despite reinstalling. I've used
Firefox, Brave, and Opera and it doesn't seem to be browser related.

Anyone else ever experience this? Is it maybe a bug in Qubes? Running the
latest version on a Purism Librem 15 V4 laptop.

Re: [qubes-users] New qubes private storage not LVM anymore

2021-01-12 Thread the2nd
I've checked qvm-prefs and wasnt aware of qubes-prefs. Setting the
default_pool parameter to lvm fixed it.
I dont remember that i changed it but i had broken SSD and as a result a
broken volume group. Maybe thats the cause.

Thanks a lot.
