[qubes-users] Memory balancing - security

2016-08-18 Thread admixior
Hi,
What do you think about using memory balancing between several VMs.
Is it security risk?
If someone exploited two VM (for example with tor and without), he can fill all
accessible memory on one VM and release them and then other suspected vm can
reserve all memory and look for a pattern.
The malicious program without access to other VM can also reserve memory from
time to time and looking for sensitive data from other VM.

[qubes-users] Live network traffic monitor

2016-08-07 Thread admixior
Hello,
Sometimes I see that my computer sends sth to the internet without my
interaction, maybe sometimes it was cause by something like auto check for
upgrades or something else, but I always wonder which VM is doing that.
Is there a tool or is it possible to do something like live (graphics or not)
monitor. I mean usage of network traffic and (if it possible without additional
security risk) to which host/ip and port VM is sending the packet. Of course
for each VM separately.

[qubes-users] Re: black screen after installation v3.1 on dell XPS 15

2016-08-03 Thread admixior
I have similar issue on XPS.
The graphics should work (for me) if you (have and) run older kernel in option.
But you can press for example "PageUp" key and enter password.
(For me it works)

Re: [qubes-users] A problem with update

2016-07-28 Thread admixior
[Solved]

Yum crashed because there's no more RAM. Include sys-firewall in memory
balancing solved this problem.

However "No updates available" is bit confusing.

Re: [qubes-users] A problem with update

2016-07-28 Thread admixior
Okey,
I did step by step (I hope every needed line) in quebes-dom0-update and on
sys-firewall.

Finally I runned yum and... some packages are checked and sys-firewall lagged
for a while. After all it looks like that:

http://pastebin.com/0SnJZh7M

It seems like qubes-download-dom0-updates.sh doesn't supports yum crash.
But why it is always crashing? Any idea?

Re: [qubes-users] A problem with update

2016-07-28 Thread admixior
Ok, maybe, but...
I've got xen-4.6.0-13.fc20.x86_64 (rpm -qa | grep xen) instead of the new
version mentioned in *-devel forum:
http://yum.qubes-os.org/r3.1/current/dom0/fc20/rpm/xen-4.6.1-20.fc20.x86_64.rpm

and qubes-dom0-update report always "No new updates available"
I've tried run with "--clean" and it still don't work.

Maybe I executed something by accident which has deleted/overwrote an important
file?

Have you any idea? Or what should I check?
