Thank you Peter.
I'm no salt or qubes expert. I put the salt configuration together by looking
at examples found from this forum. They all worked with fedora 31 and all I
have done this time is change 31 to 32.
I have not made any changes in dom0 other than putting my salt files in a
I've tried to set up my templates using salt.
The plan is to clone the fedora minimal template and install extra packages
to make a new template and it all works with fedora 31. With 32 I am
getting this error:

I get this sometimes.
Other times the window opens with the top part of the window outside of my
monitor. I have to move the widow to see the to part.

Hello.
I've copied what you have done here and it works.
I want to add the version number to my template so that it is called
'template-web-31' instead of 'template-web'. I can do this and create the
template but it won't update the template. The update worked before I added the
version
I had a try with salt today and made a VM from a template. If like to go
further with this.
I found that the /svr/salt directory was owned by root so I had to use sudo to
copy anything to it. Is that normal? I also had to use sudo on the qubesctl
commands.
One of the things I need to go is
Thank you. Disabling the sys-usb autostart is perfect. I can start it when I
want to use my scanner.

A quick update to this:
I ended up restoring a backup from last week. This time I have not bothered
with a sys-usb so hopefully my keyboard and mouse won't get locked out again.
The only problem now is that my usb printer/scanner is no longer detected.

Thanks for your reply.
I have a live Ubuntu that I can use. The NUC only has one USB as far as I know.
I'm using legacy boot.

I see in the boot messages that there is one that says 'Failed to start

Hello I need some help to get in to Qubes please.
I think I did an update that might have causes this but am not sure.
I use an intel NUC computer so have no option other than to use a USB
keyboard and mouse. I've had qubes running for a few months now with a
sys-usb and everything was fine.
I've found quite often that devices don't attach with the applet but do attach
from the dom0 terminal command line.

I've installed thunderbird today and all is fine except that dates are shown in
US format: MM/DD/YY. How can I change this to UK format: DD/MM/YY?
I googled and found that thunderbird gets its setting from the OS.
Thank you.

I'm running qubes on a NUC8i7beh with a nvme sdd, not optane and it all seems
to work.
I had to change some bios settings as the fans were kicking in a lot but other
than that it was an easy install. I didn't need any special drivers.

I'm using Qubes 4 and have created a Windows template VM with windows 7. I've
installed all the updates and Qubes windows tools which has made a separate
private 'disk' for the user settings/files. This all works fine.
I now want to make an AppVM based on my template. When I do this, the AppVM

I upgraded to 3.2 by backing up in 3.1 and restoring in 3.2. I was using xfce
in 3.1 and had 4 workspaces (or activities) and each had its own background
image and I had different icons placed on each one. Now in 3.2 there are 4
workspaces but no icons and the same background. If I add an icon
I'm created a VM that I want to use for online banking. I want to set the
firewall rules so that it can only access the bank's website but it is proving
to be tricky. The issue is that I go to www.bank.com and I added this to the VM
firewall. When I try to log in, it goes to online.bank.com and
