I have the exact same problem I tried so many times never succeeded to pass the 4 options. The usb boots, 4 options; I press enter; 2 lines flash quickly and then back to square one I m trying with the 3.2 version on an old acer. I also tried your technique but didn't work. Figured this one out and posting the solution for anyone else. After full shutdown and power on, all the partitions of the USB drive showed up in the bios.
