There is a chance you can recover the data.

You said "I didn't make a reboot of the VM", and if your system is
still running and the VM has not been shut down since the incident,
you can simply clone the VM while it is still running. This will
create a clone VM in the same state (with the same data!) _before_ you
started the source VM.

A VM's prior state (pre-startup) isn't removed from the system until
you shut down the VM.

team to develop such a safe working system. All my data could be
restored without loss.
