anywhere up from 4 should be fine, 4 cores is more than what most intel laptops had to offer for ages. WRT the 3200g not working, you mean the iGPU? Kinda surprising to hear, would expect it to be supported by the kernel already. You will have to try with the 4.1 version that is currently under development. Or choose an older AMD processor or an Intel processor instead. Or wait to use Qubes OS until a stable version of 4.1 comes out. When it comes to the amount of threads - more is better than less, of cause. And it will probably depend on what you’re going to use the PC for. How many CPU threads is recommended for Qubes OS ? Is 4 enough, or should I go for 8 or more... ?
