I have a new KCMA-D8 based machine with petitboot installed. When I
attempt to boot from the Qubes 4 DVD, the install media is not
recognized by petitboot. Other installation media that I've tried, like
a Ubuntu CD, are recognized and I'm able to boot.
I've attempted to boot using a new manual entry in petitboot.
That has been somewhat successful as I've been able to get to the Qubes
loading screen but eventually it just stops loading (no errors, etc.).
I suspect the problem is having the proper entires in my manual entry.
Currently I have:
kernel - /isolinux/vmlinuz
initrd - /isolinux/initrd.img
boot arguments - append xen.gz console=none --- vmlinuz
inst.stage2=hd:LABEL=Qubes-R4.0-rc4-x86_64 i915.preliminary_hw_support=1
quiet rhgb --- initrd.img
based on what I could find in the DVD's isolinux folder.
Not sure if that is what should be used. Can anyone with a KCMA-D8 or
similar setup with petitboot shed any light?
Thanks in advance.
