With recent release of Pulseaudio version 10.0, the module is back the wrong 
directory. The same workaround works. See 
https://github.com/QubesOS/qubes-issues/issues/1927#issuecomment-277451087

Cool, and the workaround mentioned there

sudo ln
-s /usr/lib/pulse-8.0/modules/module-vchan-sink.so 
/usr/lib/pulse-9.0/modules/module-vchan-sink.so

still works like a charm.
