I have installed Qubes 3.2 on a USB flash drive as follows:
sudo dd if=Qubes-R3.2-x86_64.iso of=/dev/rdisk2 bs=1m When rebooting I hold down Alt and enter the Qubes installation menu. Any selected option starts processing but quickly ends and returns me to the menu; no installation is made. This page seems to be relevant: https://www.qubes-os.org/doc/uefi-troubleshooting/ But I have no way of actually using vi to edit the file mentioned in the section of 3.2 (I did find an article with a work around to Ctrl-x not working on some systems: bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1253637 ) Suggestions with any step of this process are welcome and appreciated.
