You can also solve your specific situation by enabling ARP proxy, but if

I've encountered some problems myself. Out of two identical standard Realtek

Hi,
I created a Kali Linux HVM from a bootable ISO image.
So far, all is fine.
sys-net2 is the VM that controls network and the HVM is connected to the
network via the default sys-firewall2.
$ ping 192.168.XX.XX
PING 192.168.XX.XX (192.168.XX.XX) 56(84) bytes of data.

The qubes-usb-proxy is needed in both VMs (in this case, you would have to
install in dom0).
Well, it might work in dom0, but I am not sure if it is the intended usage.
What's your reason for not using sys-usb? Do you use some USB device that needs
to be connected directly to dom0?
Regards,
When I run 'qvm-run my-win7-appvm' this command opens file/exe program but
always in the Windows full screen and not in a separate window as it should. Is
it a known bug?

... I know I should know better, but how do I do that on this installer?

You are right, support for USB touchscreen is incomplete, see
https://github.com/QubesOS/qubes-issues/issues/2281 . Maybe it would not
require much work.
You can also try to start sys-usb temporarily and then (when you have no
remaining connected device) to reassign the USB controller back to
Thanks Vit and Dave C!
@Dave:
Yep, USB sticks get too hot - and the USB2 sticks I tried were far too slow for
my taste.
I have a couple of these laying around from previous laptop builds:
