A newer version (4.19.x) is already installed, yet qubes-dom0-update keeps
downloading 4.14.119-2. Then after downloading it just stops.

Do you have already newer kernel version installed? If so, dnf is picky
and refuse to operate on older packages in most cases... But also
shouldn't download old package when newer is already there, unless
you've explicitly requested it to do so.

But you don't have newer kernel (like 4.19.x), running `dnf update` or
`qubes-dom0-update` after doing reinstall for other packages should
help.

Re: [qubes-users] qubes-dom0-update keep showing the same already downloaded packages.

2019-06-16 Thread 'trichel' via qubes-users
I got the exact same problem (same packages) and reinstalled the packages with
DNF. The kernel packages are still not installing, should they also be
installed with dnf?

sudo-dom0-update --clean --verbose prints these warnings:

Unknown configuration value: failovermethod=priority in
/var/lib/qubes/dom0-updates/etc/yum.repos.d/fedora.repo; Configuration:
OptionBinding with id "failovermethod" does not exist

repeated many times.

Then an error message: Downloading Successful, but checksum doesn't match

This all started after upgrading the template for the updateVM (sys-firewall)
from Fedora 28 to Fedora 29 and shortly thereafter to 30.

sorry if not posting correctly, i just joined the list

thanks. that worked for everything except kernel and kernel-qubes-vm. how do
you get the kernel ones with .rpm? qubes is already past the kernel versions
that are stuck still downloading, so dnf --reinstall kernel says nothing to do,
and rpm --reinstall (without the .rpm as the thread specified) fails because
the newer one is already installed. should this thread continue on that issues
page?

[qubes-users] qubes-dom0-update keep showing the same already downloaded packages.

2019-06-14 Thread pixel fairy
every time i run qubes-dom0-update, it keeps re downloading a set of packages
that seem to already be installed. this doesnt seem to prevent actual updates,
but it does mean somethings wrong. ive tried clean packages in dom0 and
sys-firewall, but that doesnt help. any ideas? here what it looks like right
after running it, rebooting, and running it again. any idea what caused this,
and how to clear it?
