I had a problem that looked like this, and it was due to having some old
tcl8.0 headers and libraries in /usr/local/

We don't have anon cvs, but you can use rsync to get the source. Try

I hate to disagree, but nope, it's far more annoying. Requires one to
run a local repository to keep sync'ed between local and original,
unlike anon cvs.
