I think that someone would have to write the equivalent of their SCREEN function for R. SCREEN is in C the last time I looked and compiled as a .mex so perhaps it would not be too difficult to modify it to be compiled into R.
There are a few packages that are directed toward analysing psychophysical data (for example, my own psyphy and MLDS).
