Hi everybody
I guess my problem is pretty easy to solve, but I didn't manage to get it
working...
Me, as a Swiss, I'm trying to substitute German Umlauts (ä, ü, ö) in a
string variable in a dataset; meaning ä to ae, ü, to ue and ö to
oe.
Here's a reproducible example:

Hello everybody
Sorry if such a question has already been posted somewhere, but I wasnât able
to find an answer yet.
Iâm trying to generate random numbers for illustration purposes.
The random numbers should satisfy a multiple regression equation, for example:
z = 0.3 + 0.05 * x + 1.5 * y
Anyone have a solution to this by now?
Unfortunately, I made some changes, and now the graphic window pops up and
canât be docked anymore.
Thanks for any hints!

crashes, saying: âJava⢠Platform SE binary is not working anymore
(translated from german...)â. (It works when I replace an âa with dotâ by
âaeâ...)
Do you have a clou whats going wrong here (or where I should ask something like
this?)
Thanks anyway!
