Hello all.
I'm confused a bit about contour plots. After reading the help at
?contour, it seems as though the contour plot is for 3D plots (x,y, and
z). My data is in the form of grid coordinates (x,y), and I want to see a
contour plot of the data so that I can tell where most observations lie.
I guess what you want is contours of the density over the x-y plane. There
are a few choices that I know of:
kde2d in MASS (part of the `VR' bundle)
bkde2d in KernSmooth
sm.density in sm
locfit in locfit

Hi,
I was wondering if there is a way of plotting smoothed contours of PCA
loadings onto a map. At the moment I have the loadings plotted as
positive/negative (red/blue) scaled circles centred around where the
physical stations are on a map - but I was wondering if there is a nicer
way of
I am drawing several contour plots in one page. I use image, and get
several contours. But I don't know how to control the color in more than one
plots. For example, same color corresponds to different dependent values
in different plots. For example, yellow means z=100(the highest value)

Hello,
I'm a grad. student in statistics and am looking for some information on how
R draws its contours. I suspect you are using a Bezier spline. I have the
C code but am curious about how it works.

r-help,
I can't seem to get the below data organized in such a manner so as to
generate a contour plot
using any of the functions {lattice.contourplot, base.contour,
base.filled.contour}. I was wondering
if anyone could please tell me what I need to do to accomplish this.

I believe this was discussed about two days ago -- check the archives
under the subject density plot - beginner's question -- and there were
some good answers. Basically, the x and y vectors have to be increasing
and response or Level, as you call
