What is 'R 2-5.2.1'? AFAIK there is no such version.
I can tell you the most likely issue: is your Perl is pre 5.6.1 (very old
indeed)?
The current R-patched (2.5.1 patched) requires Perl 5.6.1, and we do
suggest that you install that rather than 2.5.1.
