that your dataset will require 40GB of RAM. I don't think you'll be able to

I haven't had a problem building R 2.1.0 on FC3 and I've got the
tcl, tcl-devl, tk, and tk-devel rpms installed (and I don't use
the --with-tcltk configure switch). I've never downloaded the
R_Tcl.zip file.
Does 'configure' find the tcl/tk setup and then it fails to
compile or does

We've been running servers with AMD Opterons (both duals and 4-ways) using SuSE
SLES 8 and Fedora Core 2 and 3 (64 bit). All work well and R can access up to

to run that command a few times, closing the opened faulty device
window in between to get the title bar to appear. Same result running R
from within xemacs/ess.
