I should add that I'm not averse to digging around in adonis if necessary. I modified adonis to call daisy (which accepts mixed data) instead of vegdist (which doesn't) so that I could fit these models with predictor coefficients in the first place. -- View this message in context:

[R-sig-eco] calculating standard error of coefficients from adonis model

2014-05-08 Thread Rafter
I apologize that this seems to be a half function-specific, half stats question. My stats knowledge is basic in terms of working with formulae, but pretty decent conceptually. I'm conducting a set of multivariate analyses using adonis. Predictor variables are mixed continuous and categorical.

[R-sig-eco] zero-inflated, overdispersed, and nested

?Have some tricky data on nectar properties. I'm trying to analyze whether treatment (1-4) impacted the volume of nectar in flowers. The data is nested for individual plant (but not individual flower). The nectar data is over 54% zeros, is over-dispersed. Could use advice on what statistical

Rafter, I am not Gavin, but I step in and speak for him. Gavin quite clearly suggested that you bootstrap adonis. The boot package is intended to generate bootstrap samples and to estimate the bootstrap confidence limits for *any* function. The boot package does not contain those functions,

[R-sig-eco] split plot manova

2014-05-08 Thread Daniel Torres
Hi everyone, could anybody help me with the code to make a MANOVA with a split-plot design (any help will be very welcomed). The design was as follows: -there were three blocks, every block was divided in to three treatments, and in every treatment there were different species. I'm thinking
