That was the problem. I had ruby 2.1.1 as the global version. I don't
remember setting it to that but I changed it back to 1.9.3 and reinstalled
the gem and it worked.

A fresh install. I've installed the gem and run radiant newProject. It
installs everything but those files so when I get to the step of running
bundle install and rake db it can't continue.
As for version I just grabbed the latest version of radiant. Running gem
list gives me radiant (1.1.4)
