I like the iPeng approaxh where SOME OF THE the controls or other
extraneous information only show up if you tap the screen (or vice
versa). Theis way you can choose via a tap to have plain unobscured
album art of have it overlaid with control/extra information.
Chopped album art is bad whichever
I think the new NP screen on Radio looks great. Now I get a little color
& imagery without the goofy shrunken head thumbnail approach. I have no
strong affection for official cover art, and this new NP screen very
smartly uses the cover art to give some visual interest without making
the screen lo
I LOVE LOVE LOVE the two in your first post, but agree with aubuti that
the progress bar is fine as it is now (except I would include the
elapsed/total time numbers on left and right).
I installed 7.4.1 today and saw the new NP screen like in JJZolx post
above. I'm all for bigger artwork, but HAT
I'm hoping the new firmware will increase the actual screen size by two
inches. Now that would be impressive! :D

New FW finally got album art to go full screen in now playing (but it's
scaled a touch too big; I'm sure they'll fix that soon enough). I'm
from the "the more artwork, the better" school. To that end, I would
say that the perfect NP screen for me would be full screen art with all

Sorry, I forgot your question about the dim level. On the SB Radio you
can use Settings > Brightness to specify the brightness of the LCD.

At present the only menu customization for the SB Radio is specifying
what options appear

Well, with it's mono setup and the built in RTC, the Radio is clearly
aimed to be (also) used as a bedside radio.
There may be people who are able to read the time in the current "now
playing" display, but I would assume there are not too many customers
who have the eyesight of an eagle if they'

Keep in mind that not everyone is reading their display from far away...
so there will simply not be "one" Now Playing screen that solves
everyones wishes and desires. I use my Radio on my desk at work, about
12" from my hand -- so I very much like smaller text and the new
full-screen artwork. How

also the main purpose the designer had in mind.
Unfortunately, it keeps all the bad points (e.g. barely readable time)
of the current layout and makes the title even less readable. I sure

the screen cap below is that NP on Radio retains the two line title bar,

The toughest part is finding the URL for what you want to play. Use the
Web UI, navigate to My Apps > Sounds & Effects and click on the name of
the effect you want. That's how I found the URL

During the beta the cover art was initially on the left and progress bar
was at the bottom. IIRC there are two groups of users
- those who want cover art and minimal text
- those who want more text details and less art
It was suggested that there should be style of NP.

If you're using Squeezebox Server, you can do that with my KidsPlay
plugin; I just published an updated version supporting Radio last night.
See the URL below. If you connect directly to MySqueezebox.com, then I
think you're out of luck for now. I hope to write an applet for KidsPlay

without problems via my sb classic. if i use my sb radio to listen to
this station i only hear the jingle. there after the message

same problem here. sb radio connects via wlan. in info screen i always
can see the connection to mysb.com but there is no music, no rss-feed.
this occurs not always after connecting to my homeserver, also in the
morning after restarting the device.

I create a external IP-Link;
Settings>Advanced>Networks>Extern Collection
and fill-in the IP-adres of mySB.com and it connect everytime, versus
NAS and Network!
It works everday day.

I had a connection issue today as well. I temporarily connected to my
local SqueezeBox server (to install the custom and daytime clock
applets) and then tried to connect back to MySqueezebox.com - which
failed no matter what I tried.

Is it possible to create a macro and save it as a favourite to one of
the numbered buttons?
What I want to be able to do is press one of the buttons and get the

I can find it on mysb.com ok - but not on the Radio - i must be missing
it somewhere.
Change my timezone on mysb yesterday and it seemed to reset some of my
setting including snooze and alarm tone - though it kept the time.
