As you realized, it's not PoE, it's EoP. ;) I use Netgear XAV-2001 HomePlugs myself, they're about as fast as 802.11g and much more stable. (In my setup. YMMV, of course.) Since stability is much more important than speed in a Squeezebox setup, the HomePlug solution is often a good one. But if

No, the Radio doesn't have karaoke functionality. If you have a microphone with line level output, you can plug it in the Radio and use it, but you can't stream simultaneously. Maybe there's a hack for it somewhere, but I haven't heard of it. -- Soulkeeper -that is not dead which can eternal

The Touch actually have a built-in microphone, I've tried it by logging in via ssh but unfortunately the quality was not too good: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=88427 Would probably be possible to use for sending messages but not likely for karaoke as that probably only works

Hi erland, So you mean one can write an applet that runs on the squeezebox itself. That's interesting. I thought plugins were only for the server software. I certainly need to read more about squeezebox. Do you know what programming language can be used for that? C++, Java, Python? Also do you

Just a random thought: If you're going to write a karaoke applet, you may also want to phase-shift one channel of the stream 180 degrees before presenting the mix in mono. That will eliminate most of the lead vocals, as they tend to be placed in the center of the stereo image. Doing this at
