It thought it was up to date (7.7.3) but I forced an update anyway and
that fixed it.  Then I went to the next SqueezeBox Radio and that had
fixed itself magically, so maybe all I needed to do was wait for an
alarm to go off (which it had in the interim).

Curious.  Anyway, all working now, thanks for the suggestions.

Have you tried checking that the radio firmware is up to date?  Sound to
me like some oddity between (what I assume is) the latest LMS and maybe
older device firmware, especially if it's happening with several radios.

1 x Touch LAN (Firmware:7.8.0-r16754)
2 x SB Radios, Wireless (7.7.3-r16676)

Unfortunately no: pressing the alarm button just causes the menu to
jiggle a little, like I've made an invalid selection.
