At some point recently a "past usernames" slug was added to user profile pages.
This decision was made without considering any of the multiple significant
reasons of personal privacy why a person might wish to change their use

My apologies. I did indeed install the user script and was obviously very
unaware that this was part of it. I'll raise it with the maintainer. Thanks for
the swift response.

Meant to add a postscript here. I spoke to the maintainer in the OSM Telegram
group. They were entirely unsympathetic and claimed the feature was necessary
after they and some other people in Russia had needed to track some
use
