I did some searching, and I'm pretty sure I already know the answer, but has anyone had any success with rancid and 2-factor authentication such as OKTA (time-based OTP)? Any workarounds? Thanks, Wayne The information in this Internet e-mail (and any

[rancid] router config diffs

2018-10-18 Thread Wayne Eisenberg
I just upgraded from 3.1 to 3.8, and all of a sudden I am getting emails every time there is a change in the config - 'router config diff' emails. I must have tweaked something in the previous version so that I wasn't getting them for every change in config, but I don't remember what. Is there

[rancid] cisco login prompt changes

2018-12-07 Thread Wayne Eisenberg
Hi, BTW, I've been seeing on a few cisco devices where the username prompt is now 'User Name:' or 'User name:' instead of 'user name:'. Should the next rancid version update the 'set u_prompt' line to something like set u_prompt "(\[Uu]sername|Login|login|\[Uu]ser \[Nn]ame|User):" to

[rancid] Watchguard firewalls

2019-06-28 Thread Wayne Eisenberg
Just to close the loop, I did some digging in the git repository looking at version differences and saw that in the beginning of the main loop just after the 'foreach router' statement, it sets the prompt to '>>'. I changed that to include the character I see '#' (set prompt ">>|#") and that

[rancid] Watchguard firewalls

Hi all, I am trying to get rancid to grab the config from a Watchguard firewall. I found a script from an Ian Reynolds on github and I'm having a little problem with the login section. Does anyone know how to get ahold of this gentleman so I can ask him for help in troubleshooting it?

[rancid] moving rancid to new server

2019-11-18 Thread Wayne Eisenberg
Hi, I need to move my rancid (3.8) setup to a new server. Is it ok to tar/gzip the entire directory and copy it or just do a bulk copy via scp of the entire /usr/local/rancid directory from the old to new server (and the .cloginrc file, of course)? Or should I re-install and re-configure from

[rancid] exit.. no, logout

2019-09-20 Thread Wayne Eisenberg
Hi, I am dealing with a Dell 6224 switch that has an interesting quirk. The powerconnect and cisco-sb types both do the job of logging in and retrieving information, however at the very end when rancid is trying to logout, it leaves enabled mode with "exit", and then tries to logoff the switch
