Assistant Project Officer, Peacebuilding
(Jakarta-based)

Under the direct supervision of the Head of the
Emergency Unit, this
position is intended to ensure effective monitoring,
management, and
evaluation of UNICEF's ongoing peacebuilding projects
in the Malukus, Aceh,
and elsewhere in Indonesia.

Qualifications:
§ University Degree in Social Sciences / Education /
Psychology /
Communications / Law or related field. Advanced
training in a field more
closely related to peacebuilding,  child rights, child
participation, and/or
conflict management will be a plus.
§ Min 5 years experience in project design and
management in social
development, humanitarian assistance, or a similar
field. Familiarity with
project budgeting and financial management.
§ Strong communications, group facilitation and
report-writing skills.
§ Good oral and written English and Bahasa Indonesia.
§ Ability to work independently with minimal
supervision.
§ Good computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Power Point).
§ Ability to work in an international and
multi-cultural environments, and

VSO seeks an experienced candidate to act as the
Programme Area Manager -
Disability (Java). The main responsibilities are:

· To manage the VSO Disability Programme Area
· To work with the regional disability programme
(DREAM-IT) team
· To manage the Java caseload of VSO volunteers,
supporting them and
monitoring and evaluating their placements.
· Develop partnerships and volunteer placements with a
variety of
government, non-government and international
organisations working in
disability, maternal and child health and rural
livelihoods on Java.
· Work with partners to develop plans to raise
awareness about the rights of
people with disabilities in Indonesia.
· To develop and deliver training and briefing
sessions
· To contribute to the overall running of the
programme office and work as
part of a team with the Health and Livelihoods
Programme Area Managers and
Programme Director.
· To assist in profile raising and fundraising efforts
· Network with other development players

Essential requirements

· Excellent written and spoken English and Bahasa
Indonesia
· Experience in programme development, planning,
monitoring and evaluation
· Excellent organisational, administrative and time
management skills
· Excellent interpersonal, networking and

five-year Southeast Asia regional programme that

Indonesia's programme and will be expanded and
extended from 2003 for
another 4 years.

· To manage the VSO Rural Livelihoods Programme Area
and coordinate and
ensure that SPARK activities are planned, carried out,

· To work with the SPARK Regional Programme
Coordinator and other Regional
Advisory Team members.
· To manage the SPARK caseload of VSO volunteers,
supporting them and
monitoring and evaluating their placements
· Develop partnerships and volunteer placements with a

livelihoods issues.
· Work with hub organisations, SPARK Country Advisory
Group (CAG) and other
key players to further the aims of SPARK.
· To oversee the project's budget and manage the donor
funding for SPARK in
country

· To provide expert advice on CBNRM issues in
Indonesia and contribute to
the overall running of the programme.
· To assist in profile raising and fundraising and to
network with other
development players
· To line manage the Learning and Communications
Officer and Project
Assistant
