Claudine was indeed a special lady. We started as R:Base acquaintance and
eventually became very good friends. She worked until recently trying hard to
get her business going and we often talked about retiring and enjoying life

Thanks for the blue's clue. I did not think of looking at the file from within
RBASE first.
Nor did I think about how the end user would be opening the file. They may not
use Excel.
We are sending it to a vendor that uses the info for state tax purposes.
I will check this out.
