Hi all - a complete noob here, but I just have to tell somebody who will
understand: I finished picking out all of the components for my Bombadil
Not sure what size frame you are getting, but you may find that
standard derailer cables are near the limit - especially if you are
using bar end shifters and have the bars set high. Tandem cables may
be something to look into. The Bombadil I set up was the smoothest
build ever, and I've built up

It's not mine - but I mention it b/c at $1500 it seems like a reasonable deal.

There's also a '96 Waterford made road model fork and frame in green listed
with a $999 starting price. This was also listed recently as a complete bike,
but failed to sell at the seller's reserve. Size in the 60s, iirc.

Well, it's finally going to happen. I just got Grant's design for my
custom Riv. and I'm beside myself with anticipation. It's going to be
set-up for up to 38s w/fenders, rack mounts, noodles, etc. Can't
believe I'm getting this close after years and years of drooling and
over a year of waiting
Dude! Your new Ebisu is really really nice. Congratulations.

How many years? That must be exciting. I remember looking at there
website a long time ago, before I had any real interest in Rivendells
and noticing that the wait was like 6 months. I thought to myself, who
would wait that long for a bicycle frame? Ha!
Can't wait to see photos of the new bike
This is a 64cm frame in John Deere green. It just showed up today.
I'll post more pics as it's built. I'm moving most of the parts from my
Crosscheck onto the frame. It's going to see some mud pretty soon.

I'll try to get some better pictures.
Cool! Thanks for posting the picture. I'm looking forward to seeing more
pics when you have it all built-up. I've heard mention of the 64cm but if
you go to the Bombadil page on the RBW website and pull down the size
drop-down up in the corner; it only shows sizes up to 60cm. So I was

I'll keep updating the build on Flickr. Tonight I'll put the wheels, bars
and saddle on. I'll have it together by Saturday.
Still on the fence on what bars to add. I've got Albatross, Moustache and
Noodles. Part of me wants to run it as a full on 29er and put on a Surly

It's a great bike, I rode a prototype on the entire Great Divide

effects. This isn't a bike to fondle and flutter eyelashes at, it's a
purpose designed user with even heavier tubes than the Atlantis. I'm

Dmolloy, you got any pictures posted of your ride? That sounds epic.
And on a Rivendell no less.
