I believe the triangular braces were added recently. There was some
material in the RR a while ago about trusses (bridges) and triangles
being a good structural shape.

Yours looks same as mine except mine has the braces at the top. I
really can't see a Nitto flexing much in the plane the braces are
bracing. Some of the racks on the Riv site have a more elegant curve

The problem is the stick-slip cycle. You can try cleaning the rim
very thoroughly, changing brake pads, even changing brakes.

If true, that would mean a very low inflation rate on this item! BTW, the
serial number will tell when teh frame was made, as opposed to circa
Waterford's system gives the month as a letter, the last 2 digits of the year
and the nth frame made in that month at the factory.

The next ride of the SoCal Rivendell Riders (and Friends) is taking
shape. It's scheduled for Sunday, September 6th, with a start/finish
point in Santa Monica.
The route will combine scenic paved roads and fire trails in Santa
