I second that. I found them when I was quite a bit bigger. There are not
many companies that sell big sized cycling gear but they do at decent
prices. I have not worn much cycling gear lately but I think I may get some
of their touring shorts for the extra long rides. Their stuff is made in USA
Well in a few days there will be at least one in my area because I just
learned that mine shipped out yesterday. I can barely contain my excitement.

I believe anything officially labeled a LongLow is Waterford. When the full
customs started, there was no longer a need for model names because it was
whatever you asked for (within reason).

Grant categorized the customs back then as Road Standard, Long Low and
All Rounder.
The Road Standard and Long Low usually had no canti mounts and the All
Rounder did.

Here is a 1998 LL with canti brakes built by Joe Starck, not

I wasn't questioning the difference between $900 and $1000 so much as
commenting on the fact that: Soma/Maxway/whoever can produce all of frame
sizes for one price vs. RBW having to source the larger and smaller Sams to
Waterford, at higher prices.

That is such a nice looking bike! A while back, in one of the Readers -
can't recall which one, but I'll dig into my discs later today unless
someone beats me to it - Grant did a piece on bicycle aesthetics. Seems that
this LL nails it in every way.

I'm surprised it hasn't been snapped up too. That's a good price, and
the tiny dent is negligible.

I was curious whether any of you who enjoy pedaling free have tried the

They are certainly not the prettiest pedals but they look interesting for a

I didn't see that the Soma is functionally similar to the Blériot or the Sam

touring (Despite the rack mounts on the seat stays, it isn't a touring bike.
The tubing is too light for that.). The Blériot had some capability

Ergon made pedals. If they are as well thought out as their
handgrips, they have some merit. It would be interesting to see how
the safety tread stuff works when wet. It does well on stair treads,
