I too have reconsidered the info on that website after re-reading it
carefully. I can't feel anything when riding my SON28 wheel on the
Atlantis, but just for the sake of it will try riding a regular front wheel
to see if I can tell them apart. Today I picked up a new SON28 Dyad 36
Tonight I got Betty fever and decided to pay her some attention. My
daughters are home from Berkeley for a week, before going to meet with
their grand-parents and I'm going to see if they'll come on a ride with me
and give the Betty a try.
Poor Betty had been hanging in a corner with a flat front

Thanks. The color is NOT the original,which was a much lighter
greensort of like the color of the New Beetle a couple of years back.
Now the color I picked is Imron #44420 (Med. Olive metallic). I had to
choose it from a swatch and had a great deal of trepidation until the
finished bike
It was imaginary.

During the dark times of the year I find myself adding to the lighting on my
Saluki to make myself more visible on my commute.
Plus it can be entertaining to have the bike masquerading as some sort of alien
conveyance.
I'm fond of passive and active lighting. Reflective gear is excellent for
Jim, I'm sending this to my daughter, she's a bike commuter and visibility

I'm almost certain the author of that site didn't have his SON28
skewer tightened properly. In this case you'll feel excessive
vibration. If he built the wheel he was testing this should have been
obvious, since the SON28 (like all dynohubs) must be clamped tightly
in the truing stand to spin
I would follow their recommendations. I would be riding a larger if
my legs would grow. I've been riding a 54 all year but I have an
85pbh(after raising my voice an octave).That's complicated by the fact
that I'm 6' tall. I used drops and a regular stem (rather than the
recommended dirt drop)
Same here. Have a SONs twice. Current bike never vibrates that I
notice. Earlier bike was the smoothest rider I ever owned (sadly
destroyed while parked on a sidewalk by an out of control truck).

comparing different hubs in isolation. The hub interacts with the
rest of the wheel and the fork (and possibly even the rest of the

I got in a nice shopping ride on the LongLow this morning, after riding
only the QuickBeam for a few weeks. Apart from the freaky feeling when I
stopped pedaling and coasted along, the main difference I noticed was more
relaxed handling, maybe less quick steering is the way to describe it.
