Perhaps I am just lucky, but have had only one HS failure in 35years of
riding. My 1988 racing bike still has the original Chorus HS. When I
replaced the original HS in a 1984 Trek 620 (Sturmey Archer?) I went with
Cane Creek. Their 1 HS is well made and very nice looking. Trouble free

creak, it's quite common. . Headsets , especially like the FSA, can last a
very long time .

Fwiw I had a similar creaking on my simpleone, but when I swapped from soma hwy
one bars to albastaches the creaking went away. No adjustment to the headset at
all. So who knows.

This is just my basic understanding, so ymmv.
The spacers are necessary on the XD2 crank when you are using chainrings
that are NOT ramped and pinned (like the Rivvy/Silver rings).
It still seems weird to me that this spacer, which is .1mm, makes such a
huge difference, hah.

Not a direct answer, but perhaps still of help: I just looked at the
still-packaged pair of 45 mm Longboards waiting to go on the Ram, and I
can't see any reason why they won't fit that frame. in fact, I've got a
pair of PB 45s or 50s that I use for one of my custom 26 wheel road Rivs
and they fit

go down a size with the longboards, because they are kind of fickle to
