Hi Everyone,
I'm down for a 7/16 ramble. I live in WC and know Shell Ridge well, glad to
help with a route if necessary.

Lungimsam,
Nicely done, and great writeup! Nothing beats that slightly tired feeling
of accomplishment at the end of a long ride.

SJS cycles seems to have the R10 in stock. I got mine from that shop in
Japan... Can't remember the name. Shipping was very reasonable.

That was my experience as well. Some of the posts suggest everyone has not
been so fortunate, glad you were. My Hunqa has exceeded all my expectations
- enjoy! Bob

I liked them so much I made
these: http://www.cafepress.com/doubletoptubesrule
But seriously, it's all good, the function that they provide (strength on
the bigger frame, a nice place to grab when you lift the bike, etc) far
outweighs any downside from a design standpoint.
I think my 2TT Sam
I find kids bikes last about 2 years, size wise. That bike looks like the
perfect kids bike. Don't mess with training wheels, go the Sheldon way. There
is a great video called something like "teaching biking without pain" or
something on Youtube. Check it out for tips.

On the 2-TT deal. I agree that it is mostly aesthetic with the functionality of
protecting your pump.
I had a single TT Sam and traded it in for a double TT Appaloosa. I like the
pump protection piece. I think I like the simplicity of the look of single TT,
but it is cool to have a unique
I got my Hunq yesterday and, viola, I'm done building it as of this
morning! (maybe I'll share pics in a thread later...)
*UPDATE on the subject of this thread:* BB was clean and went in easy,
everything installed w/o any chasing necessary. So the thread was a moot
point, but I learned a few
Hmm, when I worked in a shop "long" ago prepping a new frame was
standard practice. One of those "duh's" . Prep meant chasing/reaming/facing
everything that could be done. It appears this is not done so much these
days. Always ask and request it to be done because unless noted beforehand
Hi Bryan. I sent a pm to you for the motto bullmooses and the albasrache

Congratulations, Tim. Post photos when you get it on the road. You'll
love it when you ride it and love it even more the first time you put it up
in the repair stand without having to remove your framepump!

You don't mention anything about the steering tube, fork crown, head tube
surfaces so I'm assuming that it shipped with a headset installed.
However, even it it did, I found out the hard way on my Ram that the fork
crown seat for the bottom cartridge bearing was not cleaned of paint or
primer
FWIW, I had to have my AHH and my Hunqapillar's seat tubes reamed. Both
were were really tight and scratched the daylights out of any post I
installed. A couple of minutes with a reamer and all is well.

Cool, sounds like there is some interest. I'm thinking of a 9:30 meetup at
Walnut Creek BART and head to Shell Ridge for a trail ramble? I can also do
road to if that is more preferable but my first choice is trail. Anyone
local to WC that guide? I've done Shell Ridge a handful of times and just
We used the scooter method explained in Sheldon's article for my youngest son
who struggled with balance on his bike. It worked great as he was able to
transfer balancing on a scooter to balancing in a bike!
Good luck. She will be joining you on long rides before you know it! Enjoy!

Tires have maybe 300 miles. Looking to trade for some 32 Hypers but will
consider others. Reply offline if you can, always an issue for me it seems.
Thanks!
