Linda, I was there yesterday, and I'm still sold on the blue. I looked at the
mustard Appa and it's gorgeous, but this confirmed my sense that light blue has
more "stay" with me..that I will still love it years from now.
I went through this process when I bought my FIAT Abarth three years ago.
Sounds good, I *should* be able to make is barring anything blows up at
home (or on my bike).

I was just reading the old Roscoe Bubbe blug tonight and noticed:
"Most of you don’t know, but we have spawned a micro-store in fancy downtwon
Walnut Creek. It’s about 2.5 years into what will be the end of its 3-year
lease. "
That's was dated March of this year.
So, there it is.

Irving - I'm flexible and that works for me. Let's shoot for 10AM at WC
BART (or 10:30 at the Indian Valley Elementary entrance to the park).
Nick - thanks for offering and if you have a route from that entrance that
would be awesome. Let me know if you can't make it for any reason and I'll

What a beautiful baby! What do you actually call her? Becky? Lynne?
Rebecca Lynne? We called our grandson "His Tinyness" and our
granddaughter "XYZ" (which are her initials). Our daughter swears we
called her "Aaaron-Sage-Suzanne" which showed her lineage behind her

Errr, still totally down for this but I have a morning appointment that
makes it iffy for me to get to Walnut Creek BART by 9:34am. I will
definitely be able to make it to the next train and arrive at 9:54am, so
can we do a 10am meetup?

That's helpful, Joe, especially since (if I remember correctly) you (like
me) had picked out the dark mustard Clem. I've put in a request to change
my pre-order back to the blue. I can hardly wait to see it in person and
to get my feet on the pedals! Glad you are so happy with your

Wow, Tony, she's lovely! You've got a whole new life dimension in your
hands.
You've also got a new perspective on riding...more short rides...and soon
more company.
Congrats. Totally.

Thanks Patrick! I opted for 2.25 Nobby Nic's for the trail ride so I'll
have to go back and do a direct comparison. I expect I'd see a difference
in 2 big area's; slow (very) speed climbing on loose dirt and taking large
roots/rocks/obstacles without a good approach. In my granny I was
Congratulations!
You'll find that though the kid initially cuts your riding down by about
112%, at 8 months or so pulling a trailer with the noob will be some of the
most biking fun you've ever had.
And then, when she graduates to the up front Yepp Mini on your Bomba, oh

Congratulations, Mama and Papa Tony and Rebecca! She's beautiful, so
thankfully took after her mother, aye? Grin.
I saw this on your blog (sans Rebecca) and wondered if you'd ridden that
trail with the 48mm Compass, and if so, how it did?

Thanks all! I got a fair deal on a used R-10 and picked up a bagman expedition
from overseas. I'll report back. As of now I'm thinking the Sam will get the

Jon,
These are lovely racks, so folks tend to hold on to them, though they do
pop up every other now and then for around $100 (but be quick, 'cause this
group moves fast!). If you need it now, skip a dinner out and buy it from
Rivendell, along with some handlebar tape or loose bits to get the
